Clinic Director
Dr. Adamo is an integrative oncology specialist and has been in clinical practice for 15 years. As an integrative provider, her focus is to incorporate safe effective, evidence-based, natural therapies into her patients' care plans. Besides numerous years of clinical experience, she has had extensive training at the top cancer hospitals in the US, including MD Anderson, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Dana Farber.
Dr. Adamo has a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration and Finance from Towson University, a Master's of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and a Doctorate of Science in Integrative Medicine from the Pacific College of Health Sciences. Her office is located inside California Cancer Associates for Research and Excellence (cCARE), an out-patient cancer center in San Diego, CA. She is a former co-owner and director of the San Diego Center for Integrative Oncology.
In addition to being a clinician, Dr. Adamo enjoys teaching. She's taught numerous classes on integrative medicine and cancer. She's taught in the nursing program at California State University San Marcos as well as various continuing education classes for other healthcare professionals. She was a key speaker at the San Diego 10th Annual Primary Care & Behavioral Health Summit in 2019.
Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist
Pete is a licensed acupuncturist who has been in practice since 2015. He has treated many conditions including autoimmunine diseases, inflammation, environmental toxicity, acute and chronic pain, digestion and metabolic disorders, stress, mental/emotional wellness, and women's health. He is excited to be part of East West Integrative Oncology and train and gain experience in oncology. Pete is passionate about health, wellness, and practicing medicine with compassion and a genuine connection. He is committed to honoring the trust of those seeking care, and is dedicated to lifelong learning, professional development, and personal growth.
Pete has a BS in Human Services Management from the University of Phoenix and a MS in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. He received a functional medicine certification from The Functional Medicine University. He is a California Acupuncture Board Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist and a NCCAOM Diplomate of Oriental Medicine.
When he is not working, Pete enjoys the outdoors, camping and hiking, cooking, reading, running, exercise, and keeping active. He is a long time, die-hard Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Eagles and Phillies!
OFFICE MANAGER
JoAnn has worked in administrative roles for over 18 years. She is passionate about health and well-being. In her free time, she has studied acupressure, integrative bodywork, reiki, herbalism, and health coaching.
When she is not working or studying, she enjoys reading health-related books or magazines, riding her bike to the beach for a walk, playing table tennis, and visiting with family.
CLINICAL ASSISTANT
Alyssa is from Greenville, North Carolina. She graduated from Pitt Community College with an Associate's of Science in Criminal Justice Technology and General Education. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Forensic Science from Grand Canyon University and is currently enrolled in a Master's program in Forensic Science.
For fun she enjoys visiting new beaches and having new experiences. She also enjoys taking walks with her husband and their three dogs, Hades, Junji, and Arya. Her other hobbies include reading, video games, and watching movies.
